Before I get to business, some pleasure items. I went to Coldplay last week at the Meadows with Anna. It was the first concert in their American tour, and they treated their enthusiastic audience to a wonderful show. They sounded impeccable and played every song for which I had hoped. Plus, hey, Anna! Earlier in the week, some of my MIT friends planned a sort of Goodbye Dinner and Movie for me before my journey to warmer climes. We saw Wedding Crashers, which was a quality comedy. While talking with people at dinner I started to wonder with whom I would keep in touch. It’s always an interested thought to me, trying to predict which connections felt strong and which weak. Am I able to judge the longevity of a relationship before the test of time and distance?
Now, to the point. Many times in the past I’ve raised the possibility of pitching in together to set up a communal web server on which we could all host our sites and files. Various parties in this endeavor intend to have dedicated, free, broadband Internet access for at least four more years, so the cost of hosting isn’t an issue. Jointly, we have lots of computer parts that could be donated for the cause; certainly enough to put together a complete machine, and probably a decent one at that. I am setting up a mailing list for interested parties, so comment or contact me if you want in. (Offhand, I remember talking to Colin, Sean, Eddie, Daniel, Jamie, and Dan.) If you are willing or able to work with us to set up or administer it, speak up. It’s about time we got this party rolling, ball started, and metaphor mixed.

nowhere in this post do i see a reference to spending time with amanda during your synopsis of your week. are you really going to never mention me? i feel like youre embarrassed or something. :o(

Damnit, people. How can I properly introduce my Amanda without Vermont pictures? Hmm?
If you want to blame someone, blame Geoff, because he has instituted a veil of profanity that hides these pics from me. Meaning, when I ask him about our pictures, he tell me to “fuck off.” At any rate, I plan to share the story when I finally have the materials to tell it properly.
Meanwhile, perhaps you crazy women will be satisfied with: I met a wonderful girl in Vermont and we fell for each other in the mountains under the stars. Her name is Amanda. We spend oodles of time together and count off the seconds to the next weekend. She is a talented poet and photographer, a woman of compassion and introspection, funny and thoughtful, and is a beauty such as you cannot know. Mostly because, well, no pictures.

(funny I should be saying hi to you on adams site - but perhaps not too weird..hehe) So was I among the strong connections or weak ones at dinner? =P (don’t tell me if it’s the latter - not sure if my tender soul can bear it) In any case, Adam, you’d BETTER stay in touch with me!

Interestingly, my name WAS mentioned in this blog entry despite not having seen or hardly talked to Adam in entirely too long… and when I finally captured just a snippet of his time via IM, I was quickly trumped by this mysterious Amanda girl who, as if a Buddha had just been wrapped, decided to call and distract the misfortuned soul. Adam, next weekend (19th-22nd) Kelly and I shall be in CT… from there I will hunt you down and we will hang out before you leave for CA (maybe meet more-important-than-talking-to-old-friend-Amanda).
Amanda, I’m actually a nice guy — just not to Adam.
